Assistant Coordinator - Outside School Hours Care

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Coordinator with a passion for both, administrative responsibilities and mentoring our team at Indooroopilly Outside School Hours Care. In this full-time role, you will support the Manager in the day-to-day operations of our vibrant service, combining a focus on administration and compliance with active leadership and guidance of educators on the floor.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a wide range of administration tasks, including bookings, enrolments, daily family correspondence, CCS requirements, attendance rolls and record keeping

Support the team with the educational program, ensuring it aligns with the My Time our Place Learning Framework

Mentor and support the educators in delivering high-quality care and engaging learning experiences for the children

Maintain positive relationships with children, families and the broader school community

Ensure the service operates in compliance with all relevant regulations and licensing requirements

Contribute to the continuous improvement of the service through reflective practice

Assist with reviewing, updating, and developing service policies to ensure compliance and best practice.

What We're Looking For

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field

Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar leadership role within the education and care sector

Experience using Xplor or similar childcare booking management system

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites, with strong skills in Excel

Strong understanding of the National Quality Framework, with the ability to translate standards into daily practice and contribute to the development and review of service policies

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues

Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, while also demonstrating initiative and independent decision-making skills, enabling the candidate to effectively undertake the responsibilities of Person in Charge

Enthusiasm for continual professional development and a commitment to providing the best possible care and education for children

Flexibility to work a combination of split shifts (6:00-10:00am and 2:00-6:00pm) as well as full day shifts (10:00am-6:00pm), averaging 38 hours per week
