Job Description
Western Suburbs Kindergarten (Townsville) are seeking applicants for the position of a permanent Assistant Educator, commencing Full time in October 2025. Our Kindergarten is a double unit centre, offering Free Kindy programs for 4 groups, including the long and short day models. Recently rated as exceeding, we have served the Townsville community for over 50 years with high-quality play -based programs for young children. Our centre is run by a Management Committee of elected parents, in partnership with a Director and is affiliated with C&K.
As an Assistant you will join our experienced team of Teachers, Assistants and Admin. Assistant to implement a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment where children’s curiosity is treasured, and families are welcomed to be a part of their child’s learning journey. · 2 long day model (Mon/Tues and Thurs/Friday 7:45am-4pm) with Wednesdays for non-contact time 6 hours a fortnight)

We are looking for a passionate Educator who is committed to building strong connections with children, who genuinely enjoys being a part of their learning journey and contributing to the planning cycle. We strongly uphold our child safety policies and procedures and will need for you to demonstrate the following:
· Hold a ACECQA approved Diploma in ECEC (preferred) or Highly experienced Cert III (Children’s Services)
· Hold a current First Aid Certificate including CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis (or willing to obtain)
· Hold a valid Blue card or Exemption Card
· A recently obtained Police Check, or willingness to obtain this.
· Hold or be willing to obtain an approved course in Child Protection as per recent changes to Responsible Person requirements
