Casual Diploma Educators

Gaythorne Community Kindergarten is looking forCasual Diploma Qualified Educatorsto add to our relief pool. This may lead to more ongoing work as it arises.

Casual Educatorresponsibilities include:

•        Covering ad-hoc shifts when staff are away in the Kindy and Pre-Kindy room
  

•        Supporting permanent educators to run the daily programmes, including running small groups activities and group times as needed
  

Applicants will have:

•        Minimum Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent qualification recognised by ACECQA).
  

•        Current Working with Children Blue Card
  

•        Effective team player, willing to collaborate with other staff
  

•        Commitment to children's safety and wellbeing but also promoting risky play
  

•        Availability to work a variety of shifts within our opening hours
  

•        Experience with the National Quality Framework (NQF), Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG) is preferred but not essential.
  

About Gaythorne Community Kindergarten

Gaythorne Community Kindergarten is a unique service, managed by a Parent Management Committee and affiliated with C&K. We are a community based not-for-profit kindergarten, with two separate rooms. One space has a traditional Kindy programme operating two 5 day fortnight groups. The other space is our Pre Kindy room where children are aged from 2 through to 4 years.

Our licensed hours are 7.15am - 4.45pm, 5 days a week, 48 weeks of the year. We close for four weeks over the Christmas period. Our core hours are 8.30am - 2.30pm but we also offer a Before and After Hours Care option to all children enrolled at the kindergarten.

We are located in a quiet pocket of Gaythorne on the border of the Gallipoli Army Barracks. Our centre has that old school feel and a mostly natural playground with mango trees providing us with magnificent shade.
