About Us: At Little Penguin ELC, we are dedicated to providing exceptional education and care to young children, fostering a safe, nurturing environment where learning, growth, and development flourish. We are now seeking a highly motivated and experienced Centre Director with an ECT qualification and at least 3 years of leadership experience to join our dedicated team.
Job Overview: As the Centre Director, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing the operations of our early childhood education and care services. You will oversee the delivery of high-quality education, lead a team of passionate educators, and ensure that our service complies with all regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, a deep understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework, and a commitment to delivering outstanding outcomes for children and families.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of educators, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Ensure the centre's daily operations run smoothly, including managing budgets, resources, and staff schedules.
Deliver high-quality educational programs in line with the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards.
Oversee the planning and implementation of individualised learning and development programs for children.
Build and maintain positive relationships with families, staff, and the wider community.
Monitor and evaluate the centre's performance, providing regular feedback and professional development opportunities to educators.
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child protection, health and safety, and education.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and best practices in education and care.
Develop and manage the centre's budget, ensuring financial goals are met while maintaining a high standard of service.
Represent the centre at external events, networking opportunities, and professional development activities.
Key Requirements:
Essential:
Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and Care (or higher).
Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in an early childhood education setting.
Strong understanding of the National Quality Standards (NQS) and Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
Demonstrated ability to manage a team effectively and lead by example.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for children, staff, and families.
Knowledge of child protection and health and safety regulations.
Sound understanding of financial management and budgeting in an early childhood setting.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
Desirable:
Experience in managing large, long daycare centres.
Additional qualifications or professional development in early childhood education, leadership, or management.
First Aid and CPR certification.
Working with Children Check and current Police Check.
