Certificate III Trainee

Lighthouse ELC is a privately owned and operated long day care provider located in Daleys Point on the Central Coast. Our service caters for up to 60 children per day and operates between the hours of 7am-6pm.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and reliable individual to join our team as a Certificate III Trainee.

The 18-month traineeship opportunity will see you being mentored by our wonderful team of educators while being supported by TAFE New South Wales to complete your studies. Upon completion, you will receive your Certificate III in Children's Services qualification with the opportunity to further your studies and continue on to complete a Diploma in Children's services traineeship.

Job role:

• Nurture and care for children aged between 6 weeks to 6 years

• Assist in the implementation of daily care routines

• Actively supervising children, interacting and educating

• Setting up activities and experiences

• Cleaning and food handling duties as required

• Build and maintain positive relationships with children and families

• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Successful applicants must:

• Have a current Woking with Children Check (WWCC) or be willing to obtain one

• Have a genuine interest in perusing a career in early childhood

• Have a positive, enthusiastic, and upbeat attitude

• Be flexible, energetic, and committed

• Have great written and verbal communication skills and be a confident communicator

• Have an ability to create positive relationships with co-educators, children and their families

• Be willing to work rotating shifts and assist all educators willingly

No prior experience is required. Year 12 school leavers are welcome to apply.
