Diploma Educator – 4 Days a Week Community • Connection • Co-Learning
Newcastle Community Preschool is offering a rare opportunity for a Diploma Qualified Educator to join our warm, collaborative team. This permanent part-time position is Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (8am–4pm) for 32 hours per week.
We are a community-based, not-for-profit preschool grounded in respectful relationships, a deep connection to our community, and a strong belief that children are capable, curious, and active participants in their own learning. Our play-based program is inspired by nature, celebrates culture, and values every child’s unique voice and identity. We embrace co-learning—educators and children learning alongside each other through shared inquiry, discovery, and reflection.
What we’re looking for
An Educator who:
Holds a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent recognised qualification)
Has a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Early Childhood services
Holds current First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis training
Has a current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Holds a NSW DEC approved Child Protection Qualification
Is passionate about play, co-learning and building warm, responsive relationships
Can design and implement engaging, inclusive, and culturally responsive learning opportunities
Embraces nature-based learning and community connections
Demonstrates a strong understanding of the NQF, EYLF, and child-safe practices
Enjoys reflective practice, mentoring others, and contributing to a collaborative team culture
