Western Sydney University Early Learning Ltd (WSUELL) is staffed by a professional and committed early childhood team. Western Sydney University Early Learning Penrith is situated on the grounds of the Western Sydney University Kingswood Campus and operate with high staff /child ratios. With a supportive hands-on management team, positive team culture and a focus on professional development we take a leading role within the local early childhood, family, and University community.
We are looking to fill a full-time position for a Diploma Educator (38hrs a week). This position will comply with the conditions set out in the Western Sydney University Early Learning Limited Enterprise Agreement 2025. Our Enterprise Agreement offers above award wages and conditions including access to study leave, parental leave and 17 days personal plus additional special leave days.
DESCRIPTION OF ROLE/RESPONSIBILITIES
A WSU Early Learning Diploma Trained Educator is expected to be an active member of the team which provides high quality early childhood education and care to children. This includes ensuring the implementation of WSU Early Learning policies and procedures at all times, developing strong and supportive relationships with families, educators and children and working with other staff towards continuous improvement in all areas of the service operation.
ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA
Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care Qualification
DEC approved child protection certification
First Aid including CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis
Exceptional written and verbal communication
Working with Children Check clearance and number for verification
Ability to fulfill the requirements of a Responsible Person in Charge
Knowledge of current regulations, Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards
Knowledge of overall health and safety regarding education and care services
Experience working with policy and procedures and being actively involved in their review
The ability to take a lead role in delivering a high-quality curriculum, using a collaborative approach
A passion for learning and intentional teaching and inquiry-based learning for children aged birth to 6 years
A desire to form strong partnerships with children and families
An understanding of the principles of anti-discrimination, staff and student equity and the willingness and capacity to implement equal employment opportunity and work place health and safety plans, policy and programs
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
Previous experience working in an education and care service
Involvement in ongoing current training programs
Involvement in the preparation and assessment under the National Quality Standard

This position requires you to work unsupervised with the children and as a condition of employment, you are required to undergo a Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
