Job Description
Highton Child Care & Development Centre is a small centre with a big heart, that aims to provide each child with a caring, safe, secure, and nurturing environment in which they can grow and shine.
HCCDC is a family-owned and operated centre, celebrating our 29th year of caring for children in 2025. We are open from 7am-6pm (Monday β Friday) and offer long day care from 16 weeks of age until schooling, including Government-funded 3-Year-Old and 4-Year-Old Kindergarten programs.

We are looking for qualified, motivated, and dedicated educators to join our team of staff. We are looking to hire experienced educators who are passionate about this industry to develop and maintain meaningful relationships with the children, their families, and the wider centre community (including your peers). Educators will undertake the following tasks, commensurate with skills and experience:
Be responsible to management, in partnership with the Educational Leader, Early Childhood Teachers, and Room Leader for planning and delivering developmentally appropriate programs for the children in the group/s in which they are working.
Assist in the planning and implementation, in consultation with the Early Childhood Teachers, Room Leaders , Parents and other Educators, of culturally rich and welcoming learning environments and activities which are appropriate to the developmental needs and interests of all children, including the provision of an accessible and inclusive program.
Assist in ensuring the program operates within the requirements of the Regulations, the Act, the Quality Improvement Plan and policies and procedures of the service.
Be actively involved in the development and implementation of the Quality Improvement Plan of the service
Where appropriately skilled, be the Team Leader / Room Leader / Supervising Educator and direct the care activities of specific age groups / rooms.
Assist in the orientation of new families to the service, and maintain positive, respectful, and collaborative relationships with families and members of the local community.
Assist in the provision of a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment.
Work with all staff to ensure that children are adequately supervised and cared for at all times.

They will have excellent inter- and intrapersonal skills, and act with honesty, integrity, kindness and respect towards the children and their families, as well as colleagues and management within their role. Role Requirements & Essential Qualifications:
Diploma of Childrenβs Services and/or Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood)
Current Working With Children Check
Current Police Check
Current First Aid, CRP, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificates (HLTAID00 β HLTAID012, or equivalent)
Excellent Knowledge and Demonstrated Competency of the EYLF and the NQS
Willingness to Learn and Undertake relevant PD
Passion for the Early Childhood Industry
