About us
L'Atelier for Childrenis our quality-focused Preschool and Pre-Kindy based in Scarborough, where our educational programs are designed, implemented and evaluated by our highly qualified early childhood teacher.
By adopting a Reggio Emilia approach to teaching and learning, alongside our large outdoor area that provides play-based learning and exploration, our aim is to enable children to become enthusiastic learners who are inquisitive, open-minded and find joy in the world around them.
About the role
As the successful applicant, your duties as anEarly Childhood Educatorwill include but not be limited to:
- creating indoor and outdoor learning environments that inspire and motivate children to learn, imagine and create
- working with the team to create innovative and exciting play and inquiry-based learning programs
- documenting delivery of educational programs, children's interests and assessments of their learning/development needs
- leading, supporting and mentoring education assistants
- actively participating in team meetings to promote cohesiveness.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- Full Australian working rights
- Diploma or Cert 3 in Early Childhood Education and Care
- Minimum 1-year experience working with children aged 2 to 5 years (pre-kindy or kindy age)
- Experience taking high quality observations
- Child Protection training
- Current WA Working with Children Check, Police Clearance, First Aid, CPR and Asthma/ Anaphylaxis Certificates
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- An understanding of the NQF and a continuous improvement philosophy
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience and practice with Reggio Emilia approach
- Indigenous studies background
- Experience in a genuine play based working environment
- Visual arts, music or yoga background
