About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Think Big Early Learning Centre as a Kindergarten Teacher for our 4-year-old program. As a Kindergarten Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that supports the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of our young learners. This full-time role is based in our Epping, Victoria location.
As part of our commitment to child safety, this role requires a thorough understanding of the Child Safe Standards, mandatory reporting obligations, and risk management protocols. Applicants must demonstrate leadership in maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for all children, we actively foster a culture of vigilance, care, and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
1.
Planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate educational programs aligned with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework. 2.
Prepare children for their transition to primary school by fostering independence, resilience, and foundational literacy and numeracy skills. 3.
Observing and assessing children's progress, and using this information to tailor learning experiences that meet their individual needs 4.
Maintain accurate records of childrenβs learning, progress, and wellbeing using approved documentation platforms. 5.
Build strong partnerships with families through regular communication, parent meetings, and collaborative goal setting. 6.
Uphold a strong commitment to child safety, including mandatory reporting obligations and implementation of Child Safe Standards. 7.
Contributing to the overall operations and continuous improvement of the early learning centre 8.
Support in with the development and implementation of School Readiness Funding Plans and Goals 9.
Build strong connections with local Primary schools and support smooth transitions between home, kinder, and school environments. 10.
Engage in ongoing learning and reflective practice to stay current with best practices and regulatory requirements.
As part of maintaining VIT registration, the successful candidate is responsible for completing a minimum of20 hours of professional learning annually. This learning should align with the***Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APST)***and support continuous improvement in teaching practice, child safety, and educational outcomes.
What we're looking for
1.
Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or equivalent qualification recognised by the Victorian Institute of Teaching 2.
Demonstrated experience supporting a 4-Year-Old Kindergarten Program with a strong understanding of child development and early learning pedagogy 3.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues 4.
Creativity and a passion for delivering play-based, inquiry-driven learning experiences 5.
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively 6.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and a collaborative approach to working in a team 7.
Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration 8.
Thorough knowledge of VEYLDF, EYLF, NQF, and child development principles 9.
Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma certificates
