About the role:
The College is seeking to appoint a fulltime temporary Lead Early Childhood Educator for 2026. Applications are invited from suitably qualified Early Childhood Educators (Diploma qualified) or equivalent ACECQA approved qualification, with an ability to demonstrate authentic, collaborative and supportive practices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensure all children are supported, celebrated and connected in line with the Early Years Learning Framework, using the principles and practices to enable all childrenβs learning development, and wellbeing.
- Be a passionate educator and strive to uphold Ignatian values, Reggio Emilia Principles and ensure our Ignatian Early Years philosophy is reflected in daily practice
- Provide responsive and active supervision for children and provide support to other staff members where needed in achieving the same.
- Contribute in the collection, documentation, and evaluation of childrenβs work and observations, in liaison with the ECT or room leader as required by ACECQA.
- Be a passionate educator and strive to uphold Ignatian values, Reggio Emilia Principles and ensure our Ignatian Early Years philosophy is reflected in daily practice.
- Have a high level of both verbal and written communication skills.
- Contribute to group and individual reflective practice and critical reflection
The successful candidate will have:
- Diploma or equivalent ACECQA approved qualification.
- Possess or be willing to obtain, a catholic police clearance and complete Responding to Abuse and Neglect Training.
- Have a current Working with Children Check.
- Possess or be willing to obtain NCHC (National Criminal History Check) Certificate.
- Act as a positive role model, demonstrating appropriate behaviour and language.
- Be flexible and adaptable in their approach to work practices and management strategies.
- Respect the confidentiality of all information about a child.
- Work as a team, throughout Ignatius Early Years.
- Involve yourself and take opportunities available for professional learning.
- Have an affinity with, and preparedness to support the Catholic ethos and Ignatian charism of the College.
