BPA Children's Services (BPA) is a not-for-profit organisation that manages kindergartens and child care centres in the Western suburbs of Melbourne. YOUR NEW JOB
Two positions are available on a part-time ongoing basis, reporting to the Center Co-Ordinator and located at:
Angliss Children’s Centre Centre in Footscray.
Orama St Childcare Center in Deer Park.
You will be required to work co-operatively as a member of the team, and provide nutritionally balanced meals as per the Nutrition Australia guidelines, for all of the centers children.
On a day-to-day basis you will:
Be responsible for preparing morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for all of the children at the Center
Work with the set menu in place and prepare meals accordingly.
Plan for and cater for all children’s dietary requirements including; anaphylaxis to food, food allergies, cultural dietary requirements and personal beliefs dietary requirements.
Effectively manage your time so that meals are prepared in a timely manner.
Actively take part in risk minimisation assessments and actively plan for children with anaphylaxis & food allergies.
Ensure food is presented to children in an appealing and timely manner.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
To be successful, you will be committed to quality and have:
Food Handling Certificate.
Level 2 Food Safety Supervisor.
Certificate III in Children’s Services.
Qualifications in cooking and food services.
Knowledge of nutrition, children’s eating habits and dietary requirements.
A working knowledge of all licensing and legislation relating to the provision of food, health and safety within Children’s Services.
Experience in a similar role, will be highly valued.
Ability to work as part of a team and contribute positively and collaboratively.
Current Working with Children Check and Police Check (within the past 6 months).
