Assistant Director – Outside School Hours Care
About the Role: We are seeking an Assistant Director to support the daily leadership of a high-quality, child-safe OSHC service. You will work closely with the Director to lead teams, strengthen active supervision, and ensure consistent compliance with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, ESB expectations, and ACECQA guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead supervision planning across all areas, ensuring above-ratio coverage where required and clear staff communication
Coordinate staff allocation, rosters, and breaks so no area is left under-supported
Embed protective practices and professional boundaries in all interactions with children
Oversee head counts and sign-offs, risk assessments, incident response, and timely notifications
Coach educators through observation, feedback, and short professional learning moments
Partner with families and the school, communicating clearly and respectfully
Maintain accurate records, policies, and procedures in line with Regulation 170 and Quality Areas 2 and 7
Act as Responsible Person when required and support continuous improvement
About You:
ACECQA approved qualification for OSHC or school age education and care at diploma level or higher
Demonstrated knowledge of the National Law, National Regulations, ESB requirements, and ACECQA standards
Proven experience leading teams in OSHC or a similar education and care setting
Strong judgement in supervision, risk management, and child safety
Skilled communicator who is calm, organised, and solutions-focused
Competent with scheduling, documentation, and compliance workflows
Essential Clearances and Training:
Current Working With Children Check
Current first aid, CPR, asthma, and anaphylaxis certifications
Current RRHAN EC or equivalent child safe training
