The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) to join our passionate team at Smart Start Early Learning. Key Responsibilities
· Develop, implement, and evaluate high-quality educational programs for children aged 0-5 years, aligned with the EYLF and centre philosophy.
· Create a stimulating, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where every child’s voice is heard and celebrated.
· Build strong, respectful relationships with children, families, colleagues, and the community.
· Observe, document, and assess each child’s progress, sharing insights with families and tailoring learning experiences accordingly.
· Engage in reflective practice, ongoing professional development, and contribute proactively to the continuous improvement of the centre.
· Support the centre’s compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and standards, including child safety and wellbeing.
Work collaboratively with a team of dedicated educators, sharing ideas and supporting one another.About You
We are looking for an ECT who is not only qualified but also deeply passionate about early childhood education. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, energy, and care to the role, inspiring both children and colleagues alike.
Selection Criteria
· Bachelor’s degree (or ACECQA-approved equivalent) in Early Childhood Education.
· Current or pending teacher registration with the relevant authority (where applicable).
· Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) or ability to obtain one.
· Sound understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Standards (NQS), and child-centred pedagogy.
· Demonstrated experience (or strong readiness) in developing and implementing engaging learning programs for young children.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
· Commitment to ongoing professional learning and reflective practice.
· First Aid, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certificates (or willingness to obtain).
· Passion for play-based and inquiry-led approaches to learning.
