Are you a passionate and experienced early years professional ready to lead educational excellence? Y Whittlesea is seeking a dynamic Pedagogy Leader to drive innovation, mentor educators, and embed high-quality practices across our Early Years services.
What's the opportunity
The Pedagogy Leader is a pivotal off-the-floor leadership position focused on achieving and sustaining excellence in Educational Program and Practice across all Y Whittlesea Early Years services.
In this exciting new role, you'll lead the development and implementation of innovative, evidence-informed programs that reflect the EYLF, VEYLDF, National Quality Framework (NQF), and the unique Y Whittlesea pedagogical approaches. You'll also champion the integration of the School ReadY Program and support School Readiness Funding (SRF) initiatives to enhance outcomes for children and families.
Some of your key duties will include:
- Lead the design and delivery of high-quality, innovative educational programs across all Early Years services.
- Mentor and coach educators and educational leads to elevate their practice, planning, and reflective thinking.
- Drive continuous improvement to achieve and maintain Exceeding ratings in Quality Area 1.
- Embed inclusive, culturally responsive, and evidence-informed pedagogy in all programs.
- Build educator capability through regular site visits, mentoring, and professional learning sessions.
- Analyse and provide feedback on documentation to improve learning outcomes.
- Promote child safety and wellbeing by embedding Child Safe Standards in all environments.

This is a part-time position working 3-4 days per week (negotiable). The role will require regular travel across our Whittlesea and Melton sites to work from each site evenly.

About you
You're an experienced early childhood professional with strong leadership capabilities, a deep understanding of quality education, and a passion for mentoring others. You thrive on collaboration and have a strong commitment to continuous improvement, inclusion, and innovation. Your knowledge of the EYLF, VEYLDF, and the NQF is matched by your ability to translate theory into practice in ways that empower educators and benefit children.
Your qualifications and experience include:
- Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or equivalent) - mandatory.
- Current VIT Registration - mandatory.
- Current National Police Check (no more than 6 months old) and to be renewed every 3 years.
- International Police Check if you have lived outside Australia in the last 5 years.
- Current First Aid (HLTAID012) and CPR (HLTAID009).
- In-depth knowledge and proven success in achieving high/exceeding ratings in Quality Area 1.
- Expertise in mentoring educators to strengthen educational programs and practices.
- Strong understanding of EYLF, VEYLDF, NQF, SRF, and contemporary pedagogical approaches.
- Ability to lead program development (Y Programs) and school readiness initiatives.
- Excellent leadership, communication (including with children), and organisational skills.
