Job Description
TheQueensland Children's Activities Network (QCAN)are looking for an exceptionalPositive Behaviour Guidance Trainer and Coachto support our Outside School Hours Care sector. The Positive Behaviour Guidance Trainer and Coach position is supported by strong leadership and governance and is well suited to an OSHC professional who has current and relevant experience with a desire to work with and contribute to a growing part of the ECEC sector.
As thePositive Behaviour Guidance Trainer and Coach, you will facilitate training and provide coaching support to eligible OSHC services across Queensland. QCAN are seeking aPositive Behaviour Guidance Trainer and Coachwho has commitment, enthusiasm, interpersonal skills and innovative ideas.
The role is permanent part-time for 32 hours per week, requiring an individual with good management and organisation skills to promote quality systems and processes. The Positive Behaviour Guidance Coach will provide face-to-face, evidence-based support to Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Educational Leaders, Lead Educators, and Educators to enhance positive behaviour support strategies and create inclusive, engaging learning environments for children in before and after school care settings.
The role will work within approved budgets, liaising with key stakeholders and providing effective, regular reporting to the CEO. Applicants must have a strong knowledge and understanding of the Legislation relating to Education and Care Services, National Quality Standards, Child Protection Laws and Safeguarding Children practices.
Key Selection Criteria and Performance Standards
Minimum 3-5 years experience working with children in educational or care settings;
Demonstrated experience in implementing evidence-based positive behaviour support strategies;
Previous experience in coaching, mentoring, or professional development delivery;
Experience working in Outside School Hours Care or similar educational environments preferred;
Background in supporting children with additional needs or challenging behaviours.
To be successful in this role you must hold:
Relevant Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, or related field.
Working with Children Check – Blue Card.
