Job Description
Position Summary
Lead Institute of Higher Education (LIHE) has established the position of the Professional Practice Coordinator (PPC) for overseeing the overall administration of the professional practice program. This may include tasks such as developing partnerships with industry partners, identifying potential opportunities for students, and ensuring that the program meets relevant accreditation requirements. The PPC may also be responsible for coordinating with other stakeholders, such as academic staff and student support services, to ensure that the professional practice program is integrated into the broader curriculum effectively.
The PPC will play a supportive leadership role in continuously improving our professional partnerships, ensuring compliance, and fostering innovation in early childhood professional practice experiences. It is a position in which an ambitious individual will have the necessary support to leverage existing policies and frameworks to drive excellence and long-term impact.
The PPC reports to the Course Director, Early Childhood Education and is part of the Early Childhood Education Directorate Team of the Institute.
Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of the Professional Practice Coordinator (PPC)βs position include:
Arrange professional practice for students with early childhood services.
Liaise with LIHE academic team about all aspects of professional practice.
Conduct an orientation to the site and/or develop relationships within the early childhood sector including visiting services.
Disseminate Information and Guidelines booklets, reporting materials and record keeping relevant for payment of visiting academics.
Support the early childhood service, whether it is the Service Supervisor, Director etc in the assessment of a student experiencing difficulty in meeting any expectations of professional practice.
Notify the Course Director if a studentβs progress or professional conduct is below expectations.
Complete the βRisk Assessment Templateβ in conjunction with the Course Director and follow procedures to support students through professional practice.
Work collaboratively with academic and other teams to the achievement of planned outcomes*.*
Selection Criteria
Essential
-
Minimum 3 years of work experience working as Professional Practice Coordinator in Early Childhood industry.
Extensive industry experiencewithin the early childhood sector and professional practice experiences within higher education
Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, staff, supervisor, and industry partners.
Strong organisational and administrative abilities to manage the logistics of the professional practice program.
Sound knowledge of ACECQA regulations.
Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders and foster positive relationships.
National Police Check and current Working with Children Check (WWCC).
100 points of ID verification.
