Are you an experienced early childhood professional ready to take the next step in your career? Our brand-new, purpose-built Kool Beanz Bulldogs Footscray Centre is seeking a passionate and driven 2IC / Educational Leader to join our leadership team and play a key role in shaping the culture, curriculum, and success of the Centre.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a privately owned and operated Centre from the beginning. With capacity for 90 children, the Centre features state-of-the-art classrooms, a master chef-designed kitchen, and an inclusive, sensory-rich outdoor environment built to inspire learning and exploration.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the 2IC and Educational Leader, you will hold a dual leadership role that supports both the operational management and educational direction of the Centre. You will:

Support the Centre Director with the day-to-day operations, ensuring the Centre meets all legislative requirements and operates smoothly and efficiently.

Step into the Director role when required, providing confident and capable leadership.

Lead the development and implementation of high-quality educational programs that align with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS).

Mentor, support, and guide Educators to continually improve their teaching practices through reflective practice and professional development.

Work closely with the team to ensure documentation of children’s learning is meaningful, consistent, and clearly aligned with individual goals.

Drive innovation in curriculum planning and support Educators to implement engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate programs.

Foster strong partnerships with families and the local community, recognising their role in each child’s learning journey.

Set clear goals with the team to continuously improve educational quality, compliance, and team performance.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a collaborative, inspiring and confident leader who is ready to make a meaningful impact. You will have:

Previous experience as a 2IC, Assistant Director, or Senior/Lead Educator in a Victorian early learning service.

A Diploma or higher qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care, approved by ACECQA.

Strong working knowledge of the VEYLDF, NQS, and relevant Victorian regulations under the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.

A current Working with Children Check (WWCC – VIC).

Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma certifications (HLTAID012 or equivalent).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated ability to lead and support a team through mentorship and collaboration.

A deep passion for early childhood education and building strong relationships with children, families, and the community.
