The Cottage Pre School & Early Learning Centre is a growing service catering to children from 6 weeks old to 6 years old. We are proudly independent owned and family run with over 40 years of experience in the childcare industry. Our commitment to the team, families and community is something we are passionate about. We are open Monday - Friday 6:30am - 6:00pm.

Join our dedicated and passionate team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our young leaners. We are currently taking applications for a casual cook to cover personal and annual leave at our North Rothbury and Maitland services. This position would suit someone who is available at short notice and has availability to cover leave in October and November.

Casual position - 8.00am - 2.30pm when required.

Responsibilities:

Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children in accordance with dietary requirements and guidelines.

Ensure all menus, foods and beverages are in line with Get up and Grow Guidelines, Australian Dietary Guidelines, Healthy Eating Guidelines, Munch and Move Guidelines.

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and food preparation areas, following all health and safety regulations.

Collaborate with centre staff to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences.

Maintain accurate records of food preparation, storage, and temperature logs.

Ensure that all food is stored in compliance with Health Regulations.

Requirements:

Previous experience working as a Cook in a childcare service highly desirable.

Knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for young children.

Understanding of food safety principles and regulations.

Ability to plan and prepare balanced and appealing meals for children.

Reliable and responsible, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.

Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain.

Food Handling and Safety Certificate
