Child Care Centre Cook Above Award

The Discovery Garden Early Education, Care and Preschool is a family owned child care centre with a wonderfully supportive culture for all of our staff, families and children. Our service provides high quality care in a beautiful environment for up to 110 children every day.

We are looking for a passionate, motivated and skilled cook to take on the responsibility of designing and preparing an exciting, delicious, fresh and wholesome menu for our children each day.

Applicants with enthusiasm, a positive outlook and are excited about children’s nutrition positive outlook are invited to apply.

Successful applicants within the role will:

Have or have applied for a working with children check

Be responsible for designing and auditing an appropriate rotating menu for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years which includes children with allergies and intolerances,

Be responsible for all ordering and stock control,

Be able to work autonomously, be reliable and well organised,

Be able to maintain high levels of cleanliness and order expected in a safe kitchen,

Be able to engage positively with Educators and children within the service.

Holding a Certificate 3 in Cookery is preferred, but not essential with training able to be provided

Food Safety Supervisor Certificate preferred but not essential as training is able to be provided

The role will be Monday, Tuesday & every second Friday
