At Giggletree Early Education Herston, we believe food and learning are equally important in a child’s day. We’re offering a unique opportunity for a qualified educator who also has a passion for food and nutrition.

This role can be shaped to suit you:

Blended Role– around *4 hours in the kitchen + up to 3.5 hours on the floor each day (perfect if you love variety and balance).

Kitchen-Only Role– transition fully into a cook position, approx. *20 hours per week, with training provided if needed.

*Note: kitchen hours may vary dependant upon centre occupancy.

About the Role

· Prepare and serve nutritious, home-style meals for children aged 0–5

· Develop menus that reflect children’s dietary requirements and healthy eating practices

· Collaborate with educators to create positive mealtime experiences

· (Blended role only) Support the team in routines and learning when not in the kitchen

· Receive training and mentoring to succeed in your chosen pathway

What We’re Looking For

· Certificate III (or higher) in Early Childhood Education and Care (essential for blended role)

· A genuine passion for cooking, nutrition, and children’s wellbeing

· Experience in a childcare kitchen (preferred but not essential – we’ll train the right person)

· Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

· Current Blue Card (P)
