A unique and exciting opportunity is available for a passionate, experienced and committedFull Time Director & Full Time Assistant Director & Educational Leaderto assist with the opening of and continual management of a brand new, purpose built and privately owned long day care centre in Oak Park. Oak Park Early Learning is a medium sized centre, licenced to host 79 children per day. The centre is located on 718 Pascoe Vale Road, in leafy Oak Park, a lovely little pocket in Melbourne's north. The centre will accommodate children from 6 months - 6 years old and will follow a play and milestone based learning program for the younger children; with the children in 3 and 4 year old kindergarten following a Montessori inspired program. The centre has 5 bright and spacious classrooms, all with access to their own wonderous gardens; not to mention a beautiful commercial kitchen!
As a centre Director and Assistant Director/Educational Leader, your role will be to focus on quality educational and care programs, growth of the centre with children, families and recruitment while creating a positive work culture and community.
To be considered the applicant must:
Must hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education or higher
Have at least 3 years previous experience in management of a long day care service.
Have experience in opening a new centre (bonus but not necessary)
Have experience in Montessori (bonus but not necessary)
Foster a positive culture in the workplace
Must have strong people skills and be able to positively manage and support families and educators
Have strong leadership skills with the ability to lead by example, set realistic expectations and the ability to support staff through their own journeys in their profession
Experience in processing and managing fee payments (including collection of outstanding fees, creating payment plans and scheduling payments)
Understand the Laws and Regulations, and adapt/implement changes of these through policies and procedures
Have knowledge of systems, including KIMS, ARRIVALS, NQAITS, PRODA, KIS (and portals affiliated with these)
Have prolific knowledge of the EYLF & NQF and confidence working with the Department of Education during compliance checks and the Assessment and Rating process
Ability to navigate funding and work within deadlines for applications and related tasks
Have experience in rostering, staff management, recruitment and retaining staff in creative ways
Role requires:
You to be the face of the centre, being confident and present professionally
Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) which is very important in marketing the centre and touring prospective families
Must have the ability to form strong relationships with families, children, staff and external stakeholders
Able to role model, mould and strengthen practices
Able to prioritise, problem solve and have impeccable time management skills
Experience working in a fast-paced environment where no day is the same
Confident with technology and apps such as Xplor, Xplor Playground, 1Place, MyWaitlist
Requires the management team and owners to work closely to ensure that high quality education and care programs are provided to children and families
