Nikinpa Child and Family Centre are looking for passionate and committed Early Childhood Teachers to join the team and make a positive difference within the community.
This is an excellent chance to become part of an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO) that values culture, collaboration, community and continuous learning.
Nikinpa Child and Family Centre is part of the services provided by the Muloobinba Aboriginal Corporation, which offers a safe place for Aboriginal children, young people, and their families. Nikinpa also provides access to health, counselling, and support services.
We offer a 54-place childcare and preschool facility that lays the foundation for an Aboriginal childβs educational journey in a culturally appropriate setting. We foster strong relationships with children and families and uphold cultural practices that support the Aboriginal identity of those using our service.
About the position
We are advertising for 2 ECT Positions;
1 x Maternity relief contract- 6 months ( 38 hours per week)
1 x Full time permanent position ( 38hours per week)
We offer;
Above award hourly rates for Early Education Teacher
Full salary packaging + Superannuation
Centre hours hours 8am - 5.30pm

Early Childhood Teachers are required to work in a team to provide culturally appropriate, high quality education and care.
The Early Childhood Teacher establishes developmentally appropriate, innovative and challenging programs for individual and groups of children. As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will support active, collaborative leadership and teamwork in the development, implementation, assessment and evaluation of a child focused education and care curriculum ensuring it is consistent with Nikinpaβs philosophy and the National Quality Standards.
As an Identified Aboriginal service, the foundation of the work we do is built on relationships and our connectedness to each other. This connectedness allows us to operate Nikinpa in a way that it is much more than an early childhood education and care service.
Underpinning this role is the duty of care for children and adherence to the Code of Conduct. You will be expected to have an understanding of the National Quality reform agenda which encompasses The Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards.
Position requirements
We are looking for candidates who:
Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
Has obtained an ACECQA approved Early Childhood Teaching qualification or " actively working towards" an approved Early Childhood Teaching qualification
Accreditation with NSW as required in NSW
Has a working with Children Check Clearance
Child Protection Training
Has COVID-19 vaccination certificate (minimum of 2 doses)
Holds a First Aid Certificate, Anaphylaxis & Asthma Management Certificate and CPR Training
Desirable Requirement's;

Understanding of Trauma Informed Practice
Have strong cultural competence and understanding of a culturally safe environment
Ability to respond to Children's emotional, social and wellbeing needs and understanding co-regulation and self-regulation for children
understanding of children's development
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
Have a genuine desire to work within a team and have the ability to use initiative
Are flexible and committed and shows strong work ethic with effective time management skills
Engage in reflective practice, inspire and motivate the team in provision of Education and Care program
Uphold the rights of Children through sound pedagogical practice.
You must identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander to apply under section 14D of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
This Position is classed as a Child Related Employment and is subject to relevant Employment Screening.

Remuneration
A remuneration package will be paid in accordance with the Children's Services Award plus superannuation, leave loading and full salary sacrifice.
We offer Above Award payrates for all our Teaching roles.
