Kambu Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation for Health (Kambu Health) Ipswich Children Family Centre (CFC) are committed to providing culturally appropriate and tailored services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children aged 0-8 years and their parents/carers in Ipswich and west Moreton. CFC offers a range of programs and resources designed to support child and parents/carers wellbeing, promote positive child learning and development, and build parenting capacity.
About the role
Education Transition Officer
$75,000 - $88,920plus 12% Superannuation and Leave Loading
Fixed term, Full-time, 38 hours per week
Education Transitions Officer position is a vital role, working one-on-one with children supporting their educational and transitional needs thought their Early Years learning journey. The Education Transition Officer will play a key role in ensuring the effective teaching and learning of children; the children are engaged and supported. The right candidate will have experience in the education field, is able to report upon data and communicate effectively with parent/caregivers and stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes for the child.

To be successful in this role, you will:
Selection Criteria:
Previous experience in early childhood education or community-based child services.
Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.
Knowledge of local community dynamics or a willingness to develop this understanding.
Experience in maintaining developmental records and planning individualized learning.
Experience in ensuring a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment.
A tertiary qualification in an education or child and family related field.
Ability to develop and implement culturally safe, play-based learning programs.
Ability to provide evidence-based advice and data to support informed decision-making in teaching and learning.
Ability to facilitate smooth learning transitions for early years students, offering guidance to parents and educators.
Ability to assess childrenβs cognitive and developmental progress through age-appropriate tasks
Strong relationship-building skills with children, families, Elders, and the community.
Knowledge of child development and early years learning frameworks.
Cultural competency and ability to incorporate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Understanding of workplace health and safety and compliance with relevant policies.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Mandatory Requirements:
A tertiary qualification in an education or child and family related field
Current Working with Children Check β Blue Card
Current Open Driverβs Licence
