The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Afternoon Program Coordinator to join our Early Learning Centre (ELC) on a permanent basis, commencing as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity for an early childhood professional who is passionate about leading a dedicated team, creating engaging programs, and supporting the growth and wellbeing of young learners.
Starting the day mid-morning and finishing at 6pm, the Afternoon Program Coordinator, will oversee the design and delivery of the afternoon program, supervise and mentor staff, and ensure that each child experiences a safe, inclusive, and developmentally rich environment that reflects the Collegeβs vision and values.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and implement an engaging afternoon program aligned with the National Quality Framework (NQF) and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF)
Lead, mentor, and support afternoon program educators to uphold professional standards
Manage afternoon staff rosters and maintain compliance with staff-to-child ratios
Supervise children, ensuring their wellbeing and smooth transitions across the afternoon program
Build strong, respectful relationships with families, providing meaningful updates on childrenβs learning and wellbeing
Support compliance with all College policies, including child safety, health and safety, and emergency management
Contribute to a calm, nurturing, and joyful learning atmosphere
Successful Applicants Will:
Hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education
Possess current First Aid qualifications including CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis management
Hold a valid Employment Working With Children Check
Demonstrate leadership or coordination experience in an Early Years setting
Show strong organisational, planning and communication skills
Be passionate about working with children and committed to their growth and wellbeing
Work collaboratively and with initiative as part of a dedicated team
