Job Description

Position of Responsibility combined with a teaching load in the Junior School
Salary range - $82,992 to $124,391 per annum plus superannuation + Responsibility Allowances
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Teaching professional for the Position of Responsibility of Junior School Assistant Head - Student Care and Wellbeing. This role provides educational and pastoral leadership for students and staff within the Junior School.
As part of the Junior School leadership team, this role will develop and maintain effective operational procedures and oversees the range of programs related to student wellbeing policies and practices.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Demonstrated experience in leading or coordinating pastoral care, wellbeing, or student support programs in a school setting.
Deep understanding of child/ early adolescent development and the social, emotional, and academic needs of students in the primary years.
Knowledge of effective pastoral frameworks, restorative practices, and inclusive wellbeing strategies.
Strong understanding of child safety legislation and commitment to upholding a culture of safety, inclusion, and respect.
Proven capacity to lead and inspire a team of teachers or mentors through collaboration, coaching, and shared purpose.
Proven ability to respond sensitively and effectively to student wellbeing and behaviour concerns, including engaging with families and support staff.
High-level communication skills (written and verbal), including the ability to manage sensitive conversations with care and professionalism.
