OSHC Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a Casual OSHC Assistant to join our team at Warragul Primary School, located in Warragul, VIC 3820. This is a casual position that will involve providing support and supervision to children in our Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) program. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing and engagement of the children in our care, in line with our commitment to child safety.

What you'll be doing

Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging and age-appropriate activities for children in the OSHC program

Provide a nurturing and supportive environment for children, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times

Help with the daily operations and routines of the OSHC program, such as meal times, transitions and clean-up

Build positive relationships with children, families and the school community

Comply with all relevant policies, procedures and regulatory requirements

What we're looking for

Approved qualification as per ACECQA guidelines

Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to complete First Aid training, with annual updates for CPR.

Current Anaphylaxis Training including administration of an EPIPEN, with annual updates.

Current Asthma training, with annual updates.

Previous experience working with children in an education or care setting is desirable

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage positively with children

A caring and patient demeanour, with a genuine interest in supporting the wellbeing of children

Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities

Enthusiasm for working as part of a team and contributing to a positive, collaborative work environment

A valid Employee Working with Children Check
