About the role We are seeking a motivated, capable, and community-focused Centre Director to lead our team, uphold our high standards, and drive our centre’s continued success. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends sound business operations, strong family engagement, and robust compliance.
Key responsibilities Drive daily centre operations, including enrolments, scheduling, budgeting, rostering, and resource management Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards (e.g., education, health and safety, privacy, and licensing) Foster a warm, inclusive, and collaborative culture for children, families, and staff Build and maintain strong relationships with families; communicate effectively about programmes, child development, and centre news Manage quality improvement plans, reflective practice, and ongoing professional development for the team Lead marketing and family engagement initiatives to maintain strong word-of-mouth referrals Oversee safety protocols, risk management, and incident reporting Collaborate with the owner to ensure the centre’s financial health and strategic direction
What we’re looking for A relevant Early Childhood qualification (e.g., Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent) Demonstrated leadership experience in an early childhood setting (minimum 2–3 years preferred) Strong knowledge of early learning frameworks, developmental milestones, and child safety regulations Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; proven ability to engage families and staff with empathy and professionalism Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities; financial literacy and budget management considered an asset Commitment to quality education, inclusivity, and a nurturing, family-centered approach Ability to lead by example, coach teams, and foster a positive, collaborative work environment
