Early Years Place Coordinator
**Employment Location:**Kowanyama (subsidised housing provided) βFIFO is not available.
**Status:**Part Time, Maximum Term (1 year)
**Hours per fortnight:**38

Kowanyama Aboriginal Shire Council is seeking a passionate and experienced Early Years Place Coordinator to lead our integrated early childhood service. This is a unique opportunity to deliver high-quality, culturally responsive programs for children aged 0-5 and their families, working closely with local schools, kindergartens, and community partners.
About the Role:
Lead and manage the Kowanyama Early Years Place, building strong linkages between early childhood services.
Promote and raise the profile of the Early Years Place within the community.
Develop and implement evolving programs that enable children and families to access health, education, and family support services.
Build and maintain relationships within the sector and community.
Lead, supervise, and develop a strong, outcome-focused team.
Oversee daily operations, support staff development, and ensure efficient service delivery.
Participate in local advisory committees and early childhood networks.
Ensure compliance with Council policies, procedures, and Work Health & Safety standards.
About You:
Qualifications in Early Childhood Education, Teaching, or a relevant discipline.
Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring early childhood education and care services/programs.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to foster collaboration and best practice.
Experience developing innovative strategies for service delivery and business outcomes.
Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and issues.
Experience in community development and working with remote Indigenous communities.
Excellent communication skills and a strong customer service focus.
Mandatory Requirements:
Current First Aid Certification
National Police Check
Working with Children (Blue Card)
Current manual driverβs licence
