Down Syndrome Victoria (DSV) is the state-wide organisation representing individuals with Down syndrome and their families. A not-for-profit organisation, DSV was established in 1978 to provide support, encouragement, information and resources to people with Down syndrome, their families and the broader community.

We work alongside people with Down syndrome and their families so they may reach their full potential and live the lives they choose.

About the role

This Education Consultant position is part of the Down Syndrome Victoria Education Team and reports to the Education Manager. This role will assist educators in mainstream settings to support children with Down syndrome reach their full potential.

Primary objectives of the education consultancy role are to:

Provide strategies, information and resources to educators to improve learning outcomes for children with Down syndrome in mainstream schools.

Promote an inclusive school environment for students with disabilities and additional needs.

About you

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced educator who will be responsible for the delivery of the Education Support Service in the regional area of Barwon. The successful applicant will have a strong commitment to work collaboratively with mainstream schools to support students with Down syndrome. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders will be critical in this role.
