Job Description
Beenleigh Family Day Care is a well-established not-for-profit early childhood education and care service with a long-standing reputation for exceeding quality early childhood education and care. The Service is supported and overseen by a Governing Body of volunteers from Bethesda Lutheran Church and operates under Queensland Lutheran Early Childhood Services (QLECS) as our Approved Provider.
Beenleigh Family Day Care is looking for a new Service Leader (Nominated Supervisor). A part time working week may be considered for the right candidate, who will join a dynamic team of highly motivated and experienced Coordinators and Administration staff to manage the daily operations of the Service. Beenleigh Family Day Care is a unique workplace, where each team member is equally valued and respected for their individual strengths and skill sets.
As a Service Leader at Beenleigh Family Day Care no two days are the same. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Service, including the monitoring and support of our educators who each work remotely from their own homes. Spanning from the Gold Coast, Logan and South Brisbane, as Service Leader you will maintain high quality communication and practices that ensure each educator is operating proficiently under the National Quality Framework, National Regulations and Laws. You will support the coordination unit to facilitate educator visits, playgroup and our various community events as well as maintaining the utilisation of the Service. You will oversee the budget, report regularly to the Approved Provider and Governance Committee, facilitate monthly staff and coordinator meetings and educator training.
The position will require you to:
Manage the day-to-day needs of a Family Day Care Service.
Lead a group of coordinators and administration staff.
Oversee the financial sustainability of the Service.
Build meaningful relationships with staff, educators, children, families and the local community.
Work collaboratively within a team to ensure the best outcomes for children and families.
Meet the legislative requirements of a Family Day Care service, while being answerable to a local Governance Committee and Approved Provider.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A minimum 5 yearsβ experience working in the Early Childhood Education & Care sector.
An approved Diploma level education and care qualification or equivalent (minimum)
A current Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
Current First Aid/CPR Certificate (HLTAID 012 & HLTAID009)
Child Protection Training completed within the last 12 months
A current driverβs licence and a reliable car
Knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and Law, and National Quality Standards and National Quality Framework
An understanding of the Child Care Subsidy System
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient computer skills.
Ability to positively and proactively engage with staff, children and families.
A professional and enthusiastic attitude.
Advantageous to the position, but not essential:
Completed or working towards an Early Childhood Education degree
Knowledge and understanding of Family Day Care
Experience in a leadership role
